The Power of One (and One Billion)

In recent months, a local commercial has been underscoring the potential impact of each person swapping out a handful of regular lightbulb for energy-saving ones. With that, a lightbulb went on in my head -- reminding me that the little efforts of individuals can have a big impact on the collective.

For Ecosaurus, making a difference is about creating a planet-friendly product that's made in the U.S.A. For others, it may be taking their waste to the recycling center or, when they're at the store, running back out to the car to fetch their reusable bags. Still others choose to buy products from companies whose practices include bearing in mind the environment or giving back to the community.

Whatever you do, don't get too bogged down that you're not doing enough or feel bad because you don't drive a Prius. Maybe you can do more, maybe you can't. But what matters most is that you're doing something.

And, if just for a moment you think what you do doesn't matter, think of one person or one thoughtful gesture that has saved the day or made your day -- and know that the little things in life that make all the difference. And remember, if everyone just changed a few lightbulbs...
